Plot Synopsis
Based on the book by John McCain. John McCain, the son and grandson of U.S. Naval Admirals uses their life lessons and courage to help him get through the biggest challenge of his life. When, as a naval aviator, he was shot down over North Vietnam in 1967, seriously injured and taken into captivity as a prisoner of war. Upon realizing McCain's impressive legacy, his captors offered him early release if he would ''confess to his crimes''. In what has now become a legendary act of heroism, McCain refused the offer and consequently was tortured, held in solitary confinement, and imprisoned for more than five years in a POW camp--fighting to stay alive.
