Plot Synopsis

Texas parole officer Marilyn Gambrell quits her job and puts her life on the line to help the teenage children of prison inmates, many of whom have been abused and neglected when their parents are incarcerated. Together with a colleague she creates a groundbreaking program for one of Houston's toughest high schools. With limited funding and strong resistance from the faculty, they have one year to prove they can make a difference in these troubled students' lives.
