Plot Synopsis

A precocious 11-year-old boy whose love for baseball unfortunately exceeds his talent for the game. When he is suddenly cut from his little league team, his indomitable spirit leads him to start an expansion team. He recruits the reluctant school janitor to coach the newly formed team but the youngster has trouble finding enough players. As the coach begins to work with his small rag-tag team, his methods produce immediate results. The boy soon believes the coach was once a famous player with the Negro League and sets out to prove his suspicions.
