Plot Synopsis

High-school senior Joan Paloma receives an award at her graduation for working with animals. She is totally disappointed in her workaholic father for missing the event. He vows to make it up to her and purchases an adorable monkey at an exotic pet store. Overjoyed, she names the monkey Skippy. That night, when her boyfriend Jason comes over, Skippy gets very protective of her. Later, Skippy sprouts devilish wings, sharp fangs, and his features become monstrous and grotesque as he flies away through an open window. Skippy soon spots Jason and the sheriff's daughter making out on a hilltop, and attacks and kills them both. When Joan wakes up, Skippy is back on his bed by the window, once again the cute monkey she loves. On the other side of the world, somewhere in rural China, hunters learn a Hsigo killer monkey has been smuggled to the United States. Fearing that the largest killing spree in history will begin if they can't find it before it replicates, they set out to track it down. Skippy becomes increasingly jealous of anyone taking Joan's attention away from him. Each night Skippy transforms into the vicious Hsigo, eating, replicating and spreading terror, only to return at night to Joan's side by morning. As the growing pack of flying winged Hsigo terrorizes more and more of the town, it's up to the special Chinese hunters, the Sheriff, and, ultimately, Joan and her dad to stop the frenzy before Skippy and his Hsigos kill the whole town.
