Plot Synopsis

Based on the book by Brad Cohen. As a child Brad Cohen is teased and ridiculed because of Tourette Syndrome but with the support of his school principal and his devoted mother and father he is able to gain his classmates acceptance. Brad decides he wants to become a teacher but despite an impressive college record and glowing recommendations, getting a job is almost an insurmountable challenge. He is repeatedly turned down for jobs but finally gets a position at a school in Georgia. His openness about Tourette's, as well as his easy-going manner, quickly wins over his young students. At the end of the his first year Brad is named Georgia's outstanding new teacher.
