Plot Synopsis

Con man and gambler Shea McCall happens to pass through the town of Brazos, where his poker skills win him half of the struggling Thundering Ranch. When B.J. Stoker, a well-known sharpshooter and the prideful owner of the other half, hears about it, he's outraged and refuses to share the ranch with the swindling stranger. Regardless, McCall plans to stay, especially after meeting their beautiful, widowed neighbor, Liz Calhoun. Shea's interest in Liz only serves to further enrage B.J., whose has been biding his time before proposing to her. But when the two men uncover a plot by the Mexican army to reclaim land in the area they put aside their differences in order to save the ranch.
