Plot Synopsis

When a brilliant teen starts at a new high school, she immediately becomes one of the "brainiac" social outcasts. The captain of the basketball team is soon drawn to the shy girl even though he is expected to keep his allegiance to the team and the cheerleaders. They discover their mutual love for music and together try out for their school's musical. But when their prospective peer groups decide all is not right with this new situation, they step in to thwart their plans and break them up. Despite the intense peer pressure the couple persists even manages to inspire others along the way.
