Plot Synopsis

Teenager Blake lives with mother, who owns a dance studio in Charlotte, North Carolina. He dreams of becoming a fighter but his life is turned upside down on Thanksgiving Day when he is injured and his mother dies in a terrible car accident. In the hospital he wakes to find his father Ruben, who abandoned him as a baby, at his bedside. His father soon takes him to live in Miami where he too owns a dance studio. Ruben's career as a ballroom dancer came to an end years ago and now his studio has serious financial problems. Two of his top students, Pia and Rob, are entered to compete in the Holiday Spin, a dance competition held every Christmas Eve with the couples dancing to Christmas carols. The grand prize of $50,000 goes to the dance studio. But disaster looms when the pair splits up and Rob goes off to a competing dance studio. Even though Blake hasn't danced since he was a little boy, he begins dancing with Pia and the two decide to compete in the Holiday Spin. Together, they hope to give Ruben the best Christmas present ever.
