Plot Synopsis

Based on the novel by Tim O'Brien. A politician's darkest secret, his participation in an infamous massacre in Vietnam, is revealed just before a primary election, destroying his career. He retreats with his wife to a remote lakeside cabin to come to terms with his loss. One morning, after a night of torment, he awakens to find his wife has disappeared and he has no clear recollection of what has happened. He death remains a mystery although he is thought to be responsible.
