Plot Synopsis

Based on the novel by Patricia MacLachlan. An eleven year old boy is devastated when his restless and troubled single mother leaves the family farm after another antagonistic battle with her father. Blaming his eccentric grandfather for being abandoned, the child sinks into an emotional abyss. The old man uses his passion for photography to help the boy build a past and a future through the joys of taking and examining family photographs.
