Plot Synopsis

The dreaded Gangkhar Puensum in Bhutan is the highest unclimbed mountain in the world. Although climbing is forbidden by the government, that hasn't stopped billionaire Walter Burton from breaking the rules. When his expedition disappears, he lures the expert climber Ward Donovan out of retirement to save them. However, when they arrive at base camp, Ward and his team begin to suspect that there's something Burton isn't telling them, and when they hear the missing team's panicked final transmission they're convinced something attacked them. When they reach the summit, they find themselves being hunted by an alien creature known as The Druk, a deadly predator left behind to protect the mountain's ultimate secret-- a deserted alien civilization beneath the surface. Legend calls the underground city Shangri La, but unless Ward and his team can survive, it will be their tomb.
