Plot Synopsis

Based on the novel by Jim Lehrer. Two weeks before the presidential elections and the polls show a dead heat. After months of negotiation the candidates have finally agreed to debate each other on live TV. While on the air four journalist ambush the conservative candidate with damaging information about his personal life. He goes ballistic and loses the election in a landslide. A magazine editor, believing the public deserves to know more than they've been told, goes after the truth about what really transpired.
