Plot Synopsis

In 1957, a Manhattan nanny/housekeeper is accused of kidnapping her young charge after she flees to Alabama, following an attempted robbery by her brother on her employers home. The child, upset by his wealthy self centered parents constant bickering, follows his beloved caretaker. There, in the relative security of her mother's sharecropper cabin, both nanny and child learn the true meaning of family and the fact that people--of all ages and background--are more alike than they are different.
