Plot Synopsis

When a suspicious fire destroys her Philadelphia row house, Luz Cuevas, a working-class mother, is told that her infant daughter, Delimar, perished in the blaze. Despite the evidence, and based only on her nagging intuition as a mother, Luz remains convinced that her daughter was kidnapped and is still alive. Luz and her husband try to put the tragedy behind them for the sake of their other children, but Luz, remains convinced that her very distant cousin is guilty of foul play. She soon enlists the aid of Angel Cruz, a sympathetic State Representative to help her reopen the case. After searching for six long years , Luz, is reunited with her child and her cousin is eventually convicted of the crime.
