Plot Synopsis

Every year since the age of four, family friends Sam and Kat have spent Christmas Eve together, usually hiding and sharing secrets under the children's table. Her widowed father and Sam's father are best friends and business partners and always gather for the holidays at their dear friend Elissa's house, which seems to be decorated for Christmas all year long. As the years pass and Sam leaves home to find work as a writer and Kat stays home to work in her father's furniture business, they still spend every Christmas Eve at the kids' table. One year, when they're 27-years-old, Sam decides to tell Kat that he's in love with her -- and always has been. But things don't go as planned and they wind up having a big fight, with Sam leaving again, this time for five years. Now, Sam returns home with the knowledge that Kat is the one and hopes it's not to late to find love at the grown-ups' table.
