Plot Synopsis

In 1850, a young woman reluctantly headed west with her husband is devastated when a runaway horse kills him. Left alone with no money and no way to return home, she grudgingly agrees to marry a widower who is raising a daughter by himself. As these two grieving young people weather the hardships of prairie life side by side, their uneasy marriage of convenience ultimately reaps something that neither of them could have predicted--love can be found in the most unlikely of places.
