Plot Synopsis

Based on the short story by Jack Finney. An engaged man becomes obsessed with a 19th century poet after discovering one of her 1863 love letters in an antique desk he recently purchased. Intrigued by the intensity of the prose he playfully responds to the letter--and is astonished to receive a reply. As the extraordinary correspondence continues he begins to question his commitment to his fiancee. He soon discovers it's not to late to alter the course of both their lives as the 19th and 20th century inexplicably transcends time and love.
