Plot Synopsis

Laurel Welk, a fashion designer, is out of work, broke and very desperate to find a job. So desperate that she takes a job for which she is totally unqualified, a personal assistant to superstar quarterback, Danny Holland, who is sidelined with an injury. Through a series of misunderstandings, the employment agency sends her over to fill in for Danny's recently fired assistant. Danny's never had a female assistant, and doesn't want one now. However, since he's desperate himself, he agrees to give her a chance. But after a short while he realizes this was a mistake and throws every difficult task at her hoping she'll just give up and quit. But she's no quitter, and what makes things even harder is that she knows nothing about football, and she hates jocks. It doesn't help either that Danny, being somewhat of a chauvinist, doesn't think a woman, especially Laurel, can handle the job. As Danny is recuperating from his injury he tries to maintain his superstar status while still very vulnerable about his future in the game. As the two work together professionally, a mutual respect and admiration develops between them as well as a romance.
