Plot Synopsis

A black college senior from a privileged upbringing finds her well-ordered life turned upside-down when she falls for a white, New Orleans blues musician. Although she has a handsome but boring fiancee and her physician father expects here to attend medical school, she cannot stifle her attraction to the fast living musician. With a soulful and powerful singing voice of her own, she begins to explore the music scene and ultimately faces a crossroad where she must decide what she truly wants for her future.
