Plot Synopsis

Based on the novel by Theodore Taylor. After the death of his mother, an 11-year-old Mexican boy crosses the boarder in search of his father. He arrives wounded in a dying California town and hides out in a church. The next day a devout parishioner sees what she believes to blood on the stature of Christ. The event uplifts the town's economy and spirit. The local Priest discovers the blood is from the boy and is torn between the telling the truth or keeping the ''miracle'' alive and helping his town.
