Plot Synopsis
Headmistress of an exclusive girl's school, Jean Harris, begins a long term affair with philandering, well respected "The Scarsdale Diet" doctor, Herman "Hy" Tarnower. Their tempestuous 14-year romance ended when the chronically depressed Harris descended into a downward spiral of prescription drug use and shot her lover. She claimed it was accidental but after a sensational media trial she was convicted of second-degree murder in 1981 and sentenced to 15 years to life in prison.
