Plot Synopsis
In 1983, Jimmy Valvano, the brash basketball coach at North Carolina State University leads his Cinderella team to an NCAA championship. By the late '80s he finds himself in hot water when the school is rocked by a scandal surrounding his basketball program. He goes on to become a flamboyant sportscaster for ESPN and a fiery motivational speaker. In 1992 he is diagnosed with terminal cancer which tragically takes his life in 1993.
