Plot Synopsis

Based on an article by Marie Brenner. An attractive, intelligent medical writer, is arrested in her Chicago home and jailed for an alleged erotomaniacal obsession with a married neurosurgeon who denies an affair ever happened. She accuses him of trumping up harassment charges against her to protect his reputation and save his marriage. As her sympathetic attorney delves deeper into her client's background she discovers disturbing aberrations in the young woman's past. As the trial progresses it become obvious to the court that the accused is suffering from a profound delusional disorder.
