Plot Synopsis
In 1959 Georgia, an African-American farmer has been promised a piece of land by the white family he has worked for. He sees his dream threatened when his eight year old son accidentally kills the beloved yet vicious dog of the family matriarch, widow of the man who was to give him the land. An unexpected friendship develops between the child and the old woman that ultimately impacts the lives of both families.
