Plot Synopsis

At a mountain resort on Christmas Eve, Linda Young, a spirited single mom who's lost her faith in love, meets Army Sergeant Bill McGuigan, a handsome single dad, when they bump into each other on a ski slope and feel an immediate chemistry. After making plans to spend Christmas Day together with their kids, Bill is suddenly called away on a mission. Though he leaves a message for Linda, explaining why he had to leave, she never receives it and believes he stood her up. Eleven months later, with the Christmas season back in full swing, Linda relocates to a small Oregon town and lands a managerial position at a bank. There, she is placed in charge of the Operation Christmas toy drive, donating Christmas provisions to soldiers' families on the local army base. She is shocked when her liaison at the base turns out to be Bill. Before long, she falls for him, but, as she opens herself to the possibility of love, she doubts her ability to manage the challenges of being an Army wife. When he is called away for another military assignment, Linda becomes inspired by friendships she makes with Army wives and the sense of camaraderie they share. When he proposes marriage while on his remote military post, she reconsiders the idea of becoming an Army wife, and must decide if she'll finally take a chance on love for Christmas.
