Plot Synopsis

This true crime telefilm tells the story of South African sprint runner Oscar Pistorious dubbed the "Blade Runner," and his rise to fame as a gold medalist Paralympic champion and as the first double-leg amputee to participate in the Olympics. His resilience to overcome his disability combined with his apparent fairy tale relationship with model Reeva Steenkap turned him into a media favorite. This all shattered on Valentine's Day night in 2013 when four bullets were fired and Reeva's life was taken. Her brutal death shocked the world and the court room drama that followed consumed the news. He claimed he had mistaken Steenkamp for an intruder hiding in the bathroom, but he was arrested and charged with murder. After a high profile trail and an appeal he was found guilty and sentenced to six years' imprisonment in 2016. Told from the point of view of the people most affected; Reeva and her mother, June and the events leading up to Reeva's killing, the relationship between Oscar and Reeva, the cracks that were forming in it, as well as what allegedly happened on that tragic night and the courtroom trials that followed.
