Plot Synopsis
Based on the novel by John Grisham. In 1952 rural Arkansas a 10-year old boy lives in a small farmhouse with his parents and grandparents as they struggle to harvest their storm ravaged cotton crop. Trouble ensues when a group of Mexican migrant workers and a hillbilly family arrive at the farm to pick cotton for hire. After witnessing a murder the boy is threatened into silence by a violent farm-hand and is torn between lying to protect himself and telling the truth.
