Plot Synopsis

Based on the novel by Patricia Reilly Giff. Hollis Woods, a 12-year old artistic girl, who has run away from countless foster homes, is placed in the home of Josie, a retired art teacher. She responds to Josie's warmth and openness and begins to feel like she's found a place to call come. But when Josie starts to show signs of dementia Hollis is afraid she will be forced to move again. In an attempt to stay together, Hollis takes Josie to the vacant summer home of the Regan's, her former foster family, whom she had hoped would adopt her. She is soon taking care of Josie and realizes that she made a mistake in fleeing the Regan's. She eventually is reunited with the Regan family and finds the love an acceptance she has always longed for. She will always be grateful to Josie for opening her heart.
