Plot Synopsis
Based on the novel by Jodi Picoult. The bucolic life of a busy Amish farming community is shattered by the discovery of a dead newborn. Evidence points to a young Amish women who insists she is innocent and never been pregnant. A cynical trial lawyer agrees to take the case and moves into the community. As she feverishly works to uncover the truth she discovers things abut her client that threaten to unravel the entire case.
