Plot Synopsis

Joanna and Ben Maxwell both have successful careers and a happy marriage, but the one thing they are eager for is a child to call their own. After being turned down by the adoption agency due to Joanna's past use of medication for depression, they are approached on the side by an employee who knows of a little girl named Piper Rose they can have. They are unaware that the child's mother has died in prison. Although worried about the legality of the whole situation, they are desperate to adopt. Their uncertainty is put to rest until strange, inexplicable events begin to happen with Piper. Little do they know that the anguished spirit of Piper's birth mother seeks to reconnect with her daughter from the grave -- at any cost.
