Plot Synopsis

An overweight, unpopular high school senior is mortified when her name ends up on the list of nominees for homecoming queen, put there as a prank by her cruel classmates. Rather than drop out as expected and with her mother encouragement, she chooses to stay on the ballot in to order represent all the "freaks" at school. As word of her courageousness spreads, she becomes a local celebrity and a symbol for all those who are bullied in high school. But when all the newfound fame goes to her head, the kids who stood by her, including her best friend, begin to resent her. She is soon forced to take a long hard look at herself and reevaluate what is truely important.
