Plot Synopsis
In 1959, a young Harlem playground basketball player is spotted by a park director who attempts to guide the super talented hoopster toward college and an NBA career. The dream is shattered when the young celebrity becomes addicted to heroin. While in jail he goes cold-turkey and emerges, hoping to reclaim the Harlem park from drug dealers and gamblers. In 1971 he succeeds in helping other kids by setting up basketball Tournaments in his crime ridden neighborhood.
