Plot Synopsis

A Texas widow impoverished by the loss of her husband's income, saves her farm by turning it into a nursing home for three women in various stages of Alzheimer disease. When one of the patients accidentally sets fire to a neighbor's tool shed, they are unable to pay for the damages as well as the mortgage on the farm. Deciding to fulfill a life long dream, she takes the women on a drive to Galveston to see the ocean where she finally expresses her suppressed grief.
