Plot Synopsis
Based on the play by Julie Hebert. In 1960 Louisiana bayou, a beautiful married black woman runs a popular juke joint on the bayou. When she reluctantly hires a white singer to replace her star performer she finds herself mesmerized by his talent and sexy good looks. After her husband decides to leave the backwater town, she is free to pursue their dangerous attraction, but the only person standing in the way is the singer's suspicious wife.
