Plot Synopsis
Based on the book ''Childhood's Thief'' by Rose Mary Evans. In the 1930's a young, neglected white girl in rural Tennessee who, with the help of a caring African American couple, finds the solace and nurturing needed to transform her downtrodden life. While her natural mother tries to do the right thing by the child her abusive moonshine swilling father brutally rules the family.
