Plot Synopsis
In a small town in 1977, where there are still 'right' and 'wrong' sides of the tracks, two women -- one white, one back -- work together at the local beauty parlor amid building racial tensions. They forge an unlikely friendship and become inspired to integrate their town when the miniseries ROOTS premieres, much to the dismay of those around them. Their bond sparks a journey of independence and self-discovery.
