Plot Synopsis

Based on the novel by Richard North Patterson. Prominent defense attorney Tony Lord returns to his hometown to defend his dear friend, Sam Robb, who is a teacher accused of murdering one of his students, 16-year-old Marcie Calder. Although Sam is a respected family man, he was also the last to see Marcie alive, and shocking forensic evidence at the trial reveals that he is the father of her unborn child. Complicating matters further, the case re-opens old wounds from Tony's own high school days when he was a student falsely accused of murdering his first love.
