Plot Synopsis

Hannah Warner is a normal, happy, healthy, but slightly anxious, high-school junior, who is an accomplished dancer and preparing to go to college in a year. After her beautiful best friend, Kayden, introduces her to a Thinspiration website, a devoted cult of anorexics helping each other be skinny, Hannah secretly logs on and meets ButterflyAna who convinces her to lose 20 pounds in 20 days so she can be thin, happy, free and perfect. As if possessed, Hannah loses herself in the hunt for perfection. The closer she gets to her ever-lighter goal, the less her mind is able to resist ButterflyAna's destructive ideas. Her world spirals downward as this mental illness takes over and Hannah stops eating all together. By the time her mother, Joey, and father, Michael, realize their daughter is dangerously ill and take her to a therapist, Hannah's possession is complete. It's only when she hits rock bottom that she starts to realize the grave danger she's in, and it's going to take everyone she loves, as well as a harsh dose of reality, to get her to back away from the edge and return to a normal life.
