Plot Synopsis

A 21-year old African-American girl gets herself transferred from a juvenile detention facility to state prison because she wants to meet her long-lost mother, who is serving a life sentence for murder. The hardened ''lifer'' wields considerable power among the inmates and the young offender, to get close, joins a small group who caters to her every demand. Violence and abuse are the harsh life lessons that are soon learned by the misguided young woman.
