Plot Synopsis
Film Version of the 1947 play by Tennessee Williams. In the French Quarter of New Orleans, Blanche, an emotionally unstable southern belle, comes to stay with her sister Stella, who lives in a tenement with her brutish and explosive husband Stanley. Having just lost the family home in Mississippi, she is now destitute -- Stanley, however, perceives her as a liar and troublemaker, and sets out to destroy what little sanity she has left.
