Plot Synopsis
In 1942, a southern, principled attorney running for state senator faces racial prejudice and intolerance when he takes in the retarded 18 year old son of his recently deceased African-American housekeeper. His corrupt financial backer pushes him to get rid of the boy when the controversy escalates. The young mans simplicity and loyalty prevails, touching the hearts of his newly adopted family who stand up against the towns' bigoted attitudes.
