Plot Synopsis

Based on the play ''Stand-Up Tragedy'' by Bill Cain. An idealistic Ivy Leaguer postpones entering law school to spend a year teaching kids at an inner-city mission school. There he discovers a violent, often hopeless world in which kids are caught in the crossfire of programs that don't work and people who don't care. But one student shows such promise that he becomes his sole focus--placing him in conflict with the school's headmaster, a priest, who is also his former childhood mentor.
