Plot Synopsis

John and Abby Reynolds are an attractive married couple who have been together since their days as high school sweethearts, when John was a football hero and Abby dreamed of becoming a writer. Now in their forties, Abby is a restaurant critic for a local newspaper and John is a high school football coach. Though their seemingly perfect marriage is the envy of their peers, the truth is that they have fallen out of love, and plan to announce their impending divorce during their daughter Nicole's upcoming college break. But John and Abby's plan takes a turn when an elated Nicole surprises them with the announcement of her engagement. Not wanting to put a damper on her event, they agree to wait until after her wedding to tell her about their divorce. While they help Nicole prepare for her wedding day, strong emotions and memories swell up inside them. Through old photos, a dance lesson and an overnight trip to Nicole's honeymoon destination, a spark begins to reignite between them, and they wonder how they let their love and commitment slip away. But when Abby insists that John has developed feelings for a co-worker and shows up late to a romantic meeting he arranged they both commit to moving forward with the divorce. As the wedding day approaches, Nicole's storybook romance again reminds John and Abby of the love they once shared, and they wonder if there's still a chance to save their marriage and again find their love.
