Plot Synopsis

Actress Beth Baker was "destined for greatness." But now, ten years after setting out to take the Broadway stage by storm, that greatness has eluded her. Craving a traditional, home-style Christmas of her youth, she returns to Kern, the small mid-west town that defined her, to find that everyone's lives have progressed quite nicely in her absence. Her ex has moved on with her former best friend and everyone seems so content. Having doubts about the path she chose ten years prior and unsure of what lies ahead, she makes a Christmas wish to Santa Claus, who gives her a pretty antique key on a chain to wear around her neck. This special key will give her the answers she seeks; answers that arrive in strange and unexpected ways. As Christmas draws near, she learns to embrace the life she left behind, develops a new bond with her handsome childhood friend, Dean, and is reawakened to the magic of the town, all the while learning that perhaps a life in Kern holds the key to the greatness she has been seeking all along.
