Plot Synopsis

A college-bound teen mother tires to get her daughter's absentee father to take more responsibility and sues him for child support. When the young woman puts the baby in a day care center in order to attend school her ex-boyfriend and his family file a lawsuit to gain full custody of the child . The judge rules against her only because she is using day care which ignites protest from working moms across the country. The Michigan Supreme Court overturns the original decision, but on appeal the court eventually awards joint custody.
