Plot Synopsis

Based on the book Mother's Day by Patricia MacDonald. A small town family is torn apart when their adopted, rebellious 13 year old daughter's birth-mother appears unexpectedly. The teen is delighted by the arrival of this previously unknown mother who offers unconditional love. The woman is soon found dead and the police suspect the adoptive couple. The murders escalate with the deaths of an eyewitness and a nosy reporter. It is ultimately revealed that the detective on the case is the killer, who was afraid of the being exposed, by the biological mother, as a sexual abuser and blackmailer.
