Plot Synopsis
Based on Margaret Edson's 1999 Pulitzer Prize winning play. A distinguished professor of 17th-century poetry is diagnosed with terminal ovarian cancer. Her academic cocoon had protected her from needing anyone in her life. But as she becomes a guinea pig for an aggressive new drug regimen that forces her to withstand toxic side effects, a personal awakening is set in motion as she faces her own mortality with dignity and humor.
