Plot Synopsis
Based on the novel by Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings. Remake of the 1946 feature film. In the 1930's, a sensitive teenage boy learns the harsh lessons of life growing up with his dirt poor family in the backwood swamps of Florida. After raising an orphaned fawn he is eventually forced to shoot his beloved pet when the animal threatens to destroy their crops--and their only means of support.
