Plot Synopsis

When his latest outburst goes viral, volatile celebrity chef Easton West flees back to his Australian hometown and tries to reinvent himself through an unlikely partnership with his 19-year-old pastry wunderkind niece Diana. The story begins on opening night at Easton's new Shanghai restaurant, which turns into a pig-throwing disaster, forcing him to return to his hometown of Adelaide, Australia, to confront his past and restart his career. Easton and Diana decide to open a new restaurant, but first they need to convince local winemaker/property owner Margot Duplass to hand over a space for free -- and convince Denise that Diana isn't selling her soul to the Easton-shaped devil. While Diana sets off in search of the perfect dessert for opening night of their new restaurant, June, Easton struggles to clear all the crap out of the house so that he can set up a dining room -- and by crap, that of course means his rusted -- in old drunk of a father. AFTERTASTE made its U.S. debut on Monday, February 14, 2022, as Acorn TV released the entire six-episode first season.

Season 2 of AFTERTASTE made its U.S. debut on Monday, December 19, 2022, with all six episodes of the new season dropping on the same day. In the season opener, "Jet Lag and the Brewer's Droop," Diana returns from London for Denise and Brett's wedding and struggles to prove to her new beau, Harry, that her family are as insane as she says they are -- especially since Easton seems to have discovered his Zen state. A scuffle at the nuptials, however, will land both chefs in hot water.
