Plot Synopsis

Mixing re-enactments with expert commentary, AGE OF SAMURAI: BATTLE FOR JAPAN is a six-episode live-action series that chronicles the tumultuous history and power struggles of a warring 16th-century feudal Japan. Considered a fool and unfit to lead, Nobunaga rises to power as the head of the Oda clan, spurring dissent among those in his family vying for control. Nobunaga angers warlords when he captures most of central Japan and ignites a fierce war with Takeda Shingen, a formidable daimyo. Netflix released the entire six-episode series on Wednesday, February 24, 2021.
